Summary :
|
The Douglas County School District solicited proposals from qualified suppliers to provide a Student Assessment and Plan Management System for DCSD in accordance with the scope of requirements specified. Qualified suppliers that met all criteria were considered. This system is a replacement for our current system, Alpine Achievement. Alpine Achievement was purchased by Illuminate Education and was being reconfigured and assimilated into a new product line. The reconfiguration of the product would require significant training to all staff.
A Request for Proposal (RFP #21-09-003) was written and posted on September 21, 2020. The RFP remained open for responses until October 10, 2020. Six total responses were submitted to DCSD for review. After receiving the responses to the RFP, the lead team for the DCSD, Assessment & Plan Management System Team, narrowed down the selection to the top three suppliers that met all of the RFP criteria.
DCSD RFP review teams were created and composed of school leaders, teachers and members of district departments (Assessment, IT, Strategic Sourcing, and Personalized Learning) to evaluate the shortlisted suppliers. Groups were formed for Elementary, Middle and High School and District Level Review Teams. During supplier demonstrations, each team member ranked the vendor according to the RFP criteria. After the presentations, teams convened in their respective groups and made the unanimous recommendation for eduClimber and Achievement Dashboard Combo from Illuminate Education based on additional functionality and general ease of use.
EduCLIMBER and Achievement Dashboard Combo from Illuminate Education currently serves thousands of schools and hundreds of school districts nationally and internationally, including a number of Colorado districts. Illuminate Education is providing a $30,000 voucher for use for Training. Training and system support would also continue to be provided using existing resources and staff.
The Assessment Office and Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management negotiated with the supplier to receive a discount on per student licensing totaling a cost savings of $154,299 over the previous contract.
