Summary :
|
The Board of Education took action during the January 23, 2024 meeting to fill the vacant District B position. Of the three finalist candidates nominated, two received a 3-3 vote from the Board. The Board remained split 3-3 for both candidates after two additional rounds of voting and the matter was deemed tabled until the next Board meeting. Following the meeting, one candidate withdrew their application.
In the event that the Board does not select a person to fill the vacancy by February 10, 2024 (the end of the 60th day following the date the vacancy has occurred), C.R.S. § 22-31-129(2) states that the President of the Board shall forthwith appoint a person to fill the vacancy.
