The Rockinghorse school site was final platted in September 2014 and identified in that plat as a site to be dedicated to Douglas County School District (DCSD) for school purposes The school site is 12.8 acres and is located near the intersection of Gartrell Road and East Rockinghorse Parkway in Douglas County, Colorado. The site is described as Tract C, Rockinghorse Subdivision Filing 5.
Concurrent with final plat approval and pursuant to the Aurora Municipal Code, DCSD entered into a School Site Dedication Agreement with the developer of the Rockinghorse subdivision for terms of conveyance directly from the developer.
In September 2022 a representative from the Rockinghorse developer contacted DCSD and requested to convey the property to DCSD.
